I made several modifications that I believe will improve your product. Please refer to your Directions:
1. Since we ride on the right side of the road in the USA, the mirror should be on the left side of the helmet.
2. Since we see out of our eye instead of our ear, the mirror works best about 3" back instead of 4".
3. In order to see cars rather than the top of the helmet, the mirror works better rotated 180 degrees (down) rather than up.
Try these suggestions and see if it doesn't improve

Hello - I have been using Chain Wathers on all of my bikes, with excellent results and satifaction. My newest bike is carbon fiber with an oversized seat tube near the bottom bracket, where the Chain Watcher needs to be attached. I saw on your Chain Watcher packaging that "for oversized and oval sit masts, contact sale@thirdeyemirrors.com for larger clamps". I thought I'd try your website and ask about the larger clamps here. What are my options for installing a Chain Watcher on my oversized

We have bar end mirrors on three road bikes in our family. The basic design is great but there are some annoying deficiencies that I'd like to point out.

Actually, I've purchase six of them. Two fell off the ends of the bars because we couldn't tighten them enough. One more broke while I was trying to twist it enough to expand the rubber pieces.

The way to install this mirror leaves a lot to be desired. Rather than twist the thing until it finally expands, I removed the mirror from the

Dear Chip,
Just found your message on the website as I was site-sitting.
The shims are small, long, rectangular pieces of rubber. I am thinking that a piece of innertube would work; or perhaps two pieces of innertube, glued together, if you need a thicker shim.
Size: a bit less than one and a half inches long and one eighth of an inch wide. Approximate thickness of an innertube with a sticky back.
Let me know at shela@thirdeyemirrors.com if you need more help.

I purchased your barend mirror. The locking expansion plugs were too large or small for my drop handle bars.I did not receive any shims. I was installing the product and the mirror cracked. I need a replacment mirror and accurate sized plugs,and/or shims sent to me at N/C. It seems to me that others have had the same problems with the barend product. Please let me know how we can resolve the problem.

I purchased a Third Eye bar-end mirror from Amazon. My package did not include any shims. It looks to me like the package was not sealed correctly. Can you send me the specs for the shims you suggest? Perhaps I can recreate them here at home.

Hi Shela. I would like to order multiple of the 'mounting bar' (the piece that ends up cracking over time on the "05"). But I don't see it on your spare parts list. Would very much appreciate you getting back to me on this - how to order spare part, do you accept credit card, etc.

Thank you,

Larry Griffin

I bought your "T hird Eye Mirror - BARend Mirror" - UPC 7 30366 09000 0 - for my bicycle. It doesn't fit inside my handle bar. I measured my handle bar's diameter and it's about 3/4". I can put the mirror in and turn it but it's very loose

I want another Third Eye mirror, the old kind, the good ones that were everywhere during the 80s, the kind that clamp to your helmet. I'm currently in BFE, ND, and the best I can do is use those 2nd rate mirrors that either attach to a pair of glasses (not goggles, mind you)or glue onto a helmet. (I do not much care for these crappy, cheap, new helmets either.)

Somehow in the process of moving to frostbite territory I have misplaced the one good mirror that I had, and so far Super Glue has

Interested in the Third Eye Bar End Mirror. But I don't understand how it is installed. I must be obvious but I don't see it. Do you have a picture of it installed on road bike handle bars?

I have really enjoyed using your BARend mirror on my families bikes for years. I once avoided being run over by a wide-load equipment trailer because my rear view mirror gave me adequate warning. I quickly ran off the road into the ditch just as the front of the trailer clipped off a mail box that was on the shoulder of the road where I had been riding. I need a new mirror insert for one of my BARend mirrors that is cracked. If I understand your website, I can send in $6.00 and get a replace

I just received an 03 and the Bell helment that I have has the shell and interlining altogether and is too thick for the width of the mirror. I hate to cut on the liner. the suggestion to place it on the helment and slide to appropriate location will be tough as I will have to cut quite a bit of liner. Any other suggestions?

I ride a lot, commute, tour, mountain, road. 7K plus per year. I have used third eye forever-great product. Lately The silver mirror surface disappears. It simply retreats to the center. When it gets smaller than a dime, I must discard it and get another. I have had three in just over one year. Are you using less robust silver or am I just sweating more???

I recently got a bar end mirror. I bought your product because it is made in USA. I was very disappointed with the mounting method. The emphasis seems to be on manufacturing simplicity and cost savings. It really didn't work out with the ID of the this MTB handlebar. Some of the imports I've seen have very functional and robust mounting systems. Please re-design or at least add additional sizes of elastomer plugs. Thanks, Lou

Love your eyeglass product - in fact love it so much I have now bought at least 10 of them! If there was a competitive product, I would have turned to them years ago.

Please tell me why you have done nothing to strengthen the back part of the arm when they have broken in the same place since I started buying them - maybe 10 (?) years ago.

I would sure appreciate it if you would do something for me - this is unacceptable. (If your solution is to send one backup arm - don't bother)

Hi there,
I saw your booth at interbike and brought home a couple of samples. As great as your mirrors are, your Chain Watcher really caught my eye. I was wondering if you could tell me a bit about pricing, shipping to Vancouver BC Canada, as well as info I'd need for customs (country of manufacture etc).

Thanks so much

Purchased your BARend Mirror (09) yesterday at my local bike shop. The rubber mount seems to reduce vibration... a nice design that works well on my road bike.

In addition, I, too, am grateful for your product being Made in the U.S.A.!

I have your Bar End mirror. Works pretty well. Suggestion, make another version with a 1" extension to get the mirror out further. I use the Ergon grips on my Mountain Bike. The grips have "horns" that extend forward. The mirror is so close to the bar end that it gets in the way of the grip and horn extension. a 1" extension would make it work, I think.

I very much enjoy the features and benefits of the Third Eye Mirror. It took only a few minutes to lock on and "fine tune" my eye's to realize the benefits.

Also, I am very pleased to see a "Made in U.S.A. notation.

Best regards,

John

I purchased a third eye BARend mirror over thirty days ago. I went to install it today and the mirror cracked while installing. I was having difficulty fitting into my Ergon bar end grips. The retailer will not let me return it. Are you willing to stand behind your product and replace it? Also, is this product designed to work with Ergon bar ends?

I recently purchased Third Eye EYEglass Mirror and i'm very pleased with how well it works however it would be easier to store if the mirror would swivel far enough so that it could be stored flat lessening the chance of being broken.

07/08/10: I just purchased and received a Third Eye BARend Mirror (09) since all of the reviews I read were very positive. Unfortunately, it won’t fit inside the handlebar of my wife’s’ 2005 Raleigh Sports Comfort bicycle. I tried soap suds, and even WD-40. Any suggestions?

The mirror (09) that fits into the handle bar, does not fit into an older generation (10+ yo) rock hopper. I have tried over 5 times and have not been able to force it in. I bought the mirror new at REI. Do you have a solution besides return.

I purchased a 3rd Eye mirror a few months ago and did the duct tape thing to attach it to my helmet so that I could be sure of the right final fit. I'm 1.) a retired safety manager, 2.) an avid biker and 3.) the nephew of someone that was mentally challenged.
